Cannabigerol (CBG) is a non-intoxicating phytocannabinoid. Often referred to as the “mother cannabinoid," it is the first cannabinoid synthesized from hemp which then converts into other cannabinoids.Because CBG is ultimately used up to "give birth" to other cannabinoids, its extraction requires significantly more effort than CBD.
CBG is special in that, unlike CBD that binds to CB2 receptor, CBG can bind to both CB1 and CB2 receptors in our endocannabinoid system. CB1 receptor connects to the central nervous system (CNS) consisting of our brain and spinal cord, while the CB2 receptor connects to the peripheral nervous system (PNS).
While research is ongoing and relatively young on cannabinoids, its specific interaction with the CB1 receptor in our endocannabinoid networks, which is connected to our Central Nervous System (CNS) has shown it to be more effective in stimulating sleep than CBD alone.
Melatonin has shown to be safe in small doses (1mg - 3mg) for short-term use. Each Pure Therapy gummy contains 2mg of Melatonin.Melatonin is naturally produced by the body to promote sleep. However, when our circadian rhythm is thrown off - such as for medical professionals who work overnight regularly - Melatonin supplementation has shown to be helpful in getting the body back on track with a proper sleep schedule.
In short, it depends. If you are just starting out with CBD, CBG and Melatonin, it's important to take it "low and slow." The optimal dosage is dependent on various factors, including weight, food intake and more.
Associated Hemp family of CBD products contains broad spectrum CBD, which means it has untraceable amounts of THC, which means that it is not detectable by a lab test. The exception to this is smokeable products, which contain under the legal limit of THC. You can always see what is in our products by checkin the Certificates of Analysis (lab reports).
Associated Hemp's family of non-smokeable CBD products are currently only broad spectrum, which means that they do not contain THC, the psychoactive ingredient responsible for the high. The smokeable products contain under the legal limit of THC, and therefore will not give you a "high" feeling either.
Unlike THC, which helps provoke appetite, CBD has been found to help control appetite. Ingesting CBD is more likely to help you not want to consume as much food, especially if your typical added intake is related to a colloquial condition known as "stress eating."
